I’m so going to be a couch potato this week

IMPORTANT NOTE TO LOYAL DAILY MISH MASH FANS:

Our fearless leader, Jen is switching to a new server and is currently the opposite of up and running and she?s unsure when things will be running, but guesses it won?t be today. She?s asked Jen at momma blogs a lot to make note of that for any LF2009 participants looking to link up; you can leave a comment there with a link to your post there.

As for me:

I stopped being sick and the scale says that I still weigh the same, but I can see a little weight loss in my face (or wishful thinking) when I look in the mirror.

I?ve been walking 3 miles twice a week when it’s nice (to the library and at the zoo). I rode my bike 10 miles into Providence for a business meeting, which was a big deal for me. I roller skated around the neighborhood twice (total of maybe half a mile) to train for roller derby?

Overall, my activity level has been super high, bringing water consumption up.

I still feel like a blob and none of my clothes fit right. I need to do crunches, I’ve never been able to. Like – seriously. I don’t get my head 2 inches off the ground. I have an old flame that recently got back from basic training and offered to help, but I’m afraid it’ll be awkward. I’m not all ex-list or anything, but still.

Speaking of ex-list (Friday 9 pm), Let’s all shout hurray that Alex hooked up the tv to the electrical grid to use as an antenna and now we get all the local channels I’ve been missing ie Fox. This now means I’ll be glued to the tv catching up on Bones (Wednesday 8 pm), House (Tuesday 8 pm), and that new show with Josh Jackson, Fringe (Tuesday 9 pm). I won’t be stuck with CBS, though I’m not complaining because they have some cool shows this season. Big Bang Theory (Monday 8 pm) followed by How I met your Mother have been staples since Alex started school. I guess that leaves Thursdays and Saturdays free to parrrrr-tay – because mommies do tons of that.

What are your fav. tv shows right now?

This is me this week, which is much improved over past photos of Looking Fine by 2009.

  1. You look so skinny, no wonder you aren’t losing weight, you don’t need to!

Thursdays are booked here for Greys Anatomy & Ugly Betty. We love Fringe & Bones but don’t like House at all. ::shrugs:: We like How I Met Your Mother & Big Bang Theory but dh likes Sarah Connor Chronicles better so that’s what we’ve been watching Mondays. Friday-Sunday though we’re pretty much free as a bird (although I’ve been watching the Top Model reruns on Fridays since it interferes with Bones on Wednesday, so just make that Saturday and Sunday I guess)

  • Is That a Cat in Your Pocket?
When a friend changed his Facebook profile picture to one of him and his son wearing a hilarious and awesome coordinated western cat-in-your-pocket t-shirt and baby snapsuit, I had to know where he found them. They came from Brooklyn-based Deli Grocery who has a handful of fun screen-printed tees in their shop. Now I'm plotting who is going to get these […]

Peter asked Jesus how often he was to forgive a “brother” who had sinned against him, and offered up the number “seven” as a possible answer. Jesus waved off Peter’s guess, responding: “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.” (Matthew 18:22, NKJV) This month… I took the girls to see OK GO…and they didn’t put on as good of a sh […]

  • Elegant DIY Bedframe
Sean @ Make: Online writes: With the exception of my couch, every piece of furniture in my home is something I built, or heavily modified, myself. This is both a source of personal pride and a bit of a pain, because if I want more furniture for whatever purpose, I'm sort of obliged, at this point, to build instead of buying. My mattress has been on the […]

  • Raising minimalist children in a society of excess
How do you simplify your life and possessions when kids are in the mix? Don't feel guilty. Modern parents are made to feel as if they are depriving their children of "the best" if they don't sign them up for every lesson, take them to every movie, or buy them every brain-enhancing toy. Advertising companies are paying billions of dollars […]
